The atmosphere on these levels is unmatched.Ĭrash 2: Snow Go and Cold Hard Crash - Pretty much the exception to the "ice levels suck" rule in every game ever. There's just something insanely addictive about 2D platforming across gaps on a worn down suspension bridge.

High Road is great too, just too many fucking turtles. Probably my favorite level of any game, ever.

Thankfully I think VV are fixing the controls in the remaster so maybe then I'll be able to appreciate it.Ĭrash 3: The Motorcycle Levels - Yeah, I'm trash at these levels lol, plus I found them hard to control but I think that's just me.Ĭrash 1: Road to Nowhere and The High Road - Particularly the former, since it's shorter and has dope gem paths. I'm predicting there will be some smalls openings on the walls that will open and pour out water and then there will some form of drainage on the floor.Ĭrash 1: Cortex Power - Is it just me? I wasn't a fan of this level and the backtracking was tedious as hell.Ĭrash 2: The Jet Pack Levels - A cool concept with really clunky controls. I'm curious as to how they'll approach the water in this stage. It makes it feel like you're in some water system of an ancient civilizationĬrash 3: Tomb Wader - I'd include all the Egypt levels but this one stood out to me the most because of the water. The designs in the remaster look amazing too with all the ruins, idols, pillars and plants. I'm sure it'll be stunning.Ĭrash 2: Air Crash, Plant Food and Hang Eight - Beautiful levels with a unique, completely stellar surfboard mechanic. I can't wait to see how it looks like in the remaster. The scenery is creepy in a good way and I love the scenery when you get to the top. The darkness and random holes don't help either.Ĭrash 1: Sunset Vista and Lost City - These levels really give Crash the title of being a platformer. And let's not forget that pesky off-screen crate in the bonus round.ĬB3: Area 51? - One mistake and the rest of the race is pointless. The backtracking for the box gem is hilariously difficult in some parts if done without a mask but so much fun. The backtracking involved for the gem is a landmine for errors and to manage it without dying is something else.ĬB2: Cold Hard Crash - As I mentioned above, I love this level. Not a fan of the airplane mechanics at all.ĬB1: Cortex Power - I was going to put Road to Nowhere because of the invisible planks behind the exit warp, but getting the gem for Cortex Power is downright frustrating.

Why are the hogs invincible in a level where one wrong step will lead to your doom?!ĬB2: Rock It/Pack Attack - Not bad levels per se, but just a great idea for a level that wasn't executed to its full potential.ĬB3: Bye Bye Blimps/Mad Bombers - Always dreaded these levels when playing not because they were difficult, but with how boring and bland they were. Not to mention the Bandifish and random pterodactyl carrying you off to Eggipus Rex.ĬB1: Road to Nowhere/The High Road - Aside from continuity issues (why do they have the same backdrop if they're on different islands?) the amount of room for error in these levels is astounding. Also find it funny how the steel crates in the death route kind of resemble a middle finger when fully activated by the "!" box, so as to say "*** you, we're gonna make you work for this gem."ĬB3: Bone Yard/Dino Might! - The prehistoric setting and transition from the normal platforming sections to the chase sections were perfectly executed. The work and backtracking in order to get the gem alone is frustrating yet a ton of fun, and very rewarding when done. Level design may be a bit easy in parts but doesn't take away from how fun they are to play.ĬB2: Cold Hard Crash - The snow levels were always my favourite in CB2 and this level is the standout.

Everything from the design to the music is spot on.

Also would be interesting to hear which level you think is the most difficult in each of the games! I'll start:ĬB1: The Great Gate/Native Fortress - they really nailed the native feel in these levels. It's difficult to pick ONE favourite/least favourite level from each game but if you're struggling to narrow it to one (like I am right now!) you're more than welcome to post the type of level. In typical hype train fashion I replayed the trilogy for what seems to be the hundredth time, and it seems like my tastes in what levels I like/dislike and find more challenging changes in every playthrough.
